I am bound and determined to use the VitaMix several times a week … after all that complaining about HOW I WISH I HAD A VITAMIX … my bosses (bless their hearts and souls!) opted to buy me one for Christmas … but now, I’m a little stumped as to just what it was I really really wanted to make …
So I’m on a mission … success or failure, I will make every attempt to post one recipe a week using the VitaMix to see if I can really incorporate it into my life …
I’m just so sad that I’m not more excited about using it … feel free to give me tips and recipes to try and share …. PLEASE!
Enough whining (I just feel real bad … it’s not a cheap gift by any means) …
Today’s featured attempt will be:
Banana Nut Smoothies
2 frozen bananas (yes, do peel them before you freeze them. You are freezing your borderline overly ripe bananas, right?)
1 ripe pear, cut in half, seeds removed
1/4 cup raw nuts (not peanuts!), I used cashews (unsalted, unroasted)
1/2 cup water
Toss all of this in the VM and let it rip for about 2 minutes or til smooth.
The original recipe called for vanilla flavored stevia and ice cubes. not sure why as it definitely does NOT need to have!
Give it a shot, let me know what you think? Personally, I REALLY REALLY liked this … not so much after brushing teeth but took it to work with me and whoa momma, it was good … filled me up too for 3 plus hours which is a HUGE bonus!
I highly recommend this IF you like bananas … Hubby would probably not appreciate it but I LOVE IT!
