Crockpot Baked Potatoes

It’s summertime here and MAN IS IT HOT OUTSIDE!

Like, sweltering hot!

So, rather than turn on the oven and make the kitchen hotter than it already was, I opted to make the baked potatoes in the crockpot.

Uhm, yeah, it works like a charm!

Easy peasy, lemon squeasy …

Scrub your taters.  I use a scrubby sponge.

Let them dry.

Give them a little love and massage some olive oil over them.

Season them with some coarse salt.

Toss them in the crockpot and turn it on to low for 8 hours OR high for 4 hours.  I did mine on high and started then at 4pm … we ate about 8:30 and they were done! They were NOT Costco size taters, just for the record, but ordinary, run of the mill potatoes 🙂

Go about your daily stuff. Need some ideas? For 8 hours, maybe go make some money for the bosses.

Or for 4 hours, go float in the pool. Or, clean house. Read a book. Pinterest!

Whatever you do, remember, you got some taters cookin’ at home!

*Note – don’t be tempted to cook longer than 4 hours on high or 7 to 8 hours on low … I did 6 hours on high and then was gone when they finished, so the crockpot went to warm and well, they were a little overdone. NOT the end of the world, but still, not recommended!
