My little frugal tip for the week?? Extend your mascara!
I buy somewhat pricier mascara … why? I’m not sure, other than the fact that I like it when it does NOT flake off, smear, smudge and just goes on smooth.
Snobby? Sort of … and I make no apologies for it!
But lately, I’ve been trying to use up what I have on hand (that shampoo thing was soooo much fun, NOT) and now I’m getting down to the bottom of the mascara stash …
And you know what that means?
Clumpy, dry and awful to put on.
I found a tip and figured, heck, let me give it a try!
Saline eye drops (like you use for contacts)!
I don’t wear contacts but I do have eye drops aka visine! So I used that instead!
2 drops in to that tube of dried up mascara works like a charm!
I’m 3 weeks in with that rejuvenated tube and so happy that I am putting off spending $28 for a few more weeks!
I even went and did this to a sampler tube I received that I really enjoyed and have been using that as well and can I just tell you what a GREAT HACK this is!

Man! I wish I had read this before now. At the beginning of the week, I added some water to my mascara and thought I was genius! It revived my mascara but I like you eye drop idea since Its made for eye. I have an old sampler (of some high dollar stuff) I'm gonna try your trick. Thanks for the idea.Lisa

Totally use it on that sampler! I had a tiny bottle of some stuff from Clarion that I added a drop to it and have been using it for TWO WEEKS now! Trust me, this is the best thing to do!
